2022-2023 Teams:

We will be fielding one team in each age division for 12s/13s/14s/15s/17s/18s 

and two teams at 16s. We may also offer a second team at either 13s or 14s. At this time, we are not offering boys teams. 

We highly recommend attending open gyms, camps, and clinics to be pre-evaluated leading up to tryouts. There have been changes to the recruiting policy, contract signing periods, and when verbal offers may be made. Please scroll down to read the new guidelines. Remember, verbal offers are not legally binding.

HOW TO REGISTER:

2. Pay the $40 cash-only evaluation fee at check-in.

*Day 2 will only be held if necessary. Please attend Day 1 if possible.

All athletes must complete our accident/Covid waivers annually. This form only needs to be completed once.

TRYOUT PROCESS

Returning Five Star players may receive early verbal offers on/after May 10th at 10 am. Binding contracts may be offered to returning Five Star players on Monday, July 18th no earlier than 10 am. Athletes new to Five Star may receive electronic contract offers on Tuesday, July 19th no earlier than 10 am. Contracts are legally binding for the entire 22-23 club season.

ONLINE TRYOUT REGISTRATION REQUIRED

It is a requirement for each athlete to complete the online registration process. Depending upon the number of registrants, you may be emailed a specific time to attend, other than the one posted.

WHAT FEES DO I NEED TO PAY?  These fees will be collected at the door

  • $40 evaluation fee (NON-REFUNDABLE) CASH ONLY

HOW TEAMS ARE SELECTED

Teams will be selected and put together based on positional needs, skill level, attitude, vocal ability, competitive drive, sportsmanship, and commitment. 

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I WAS SELECTED?

Each athlete selected for a team will be given a verbal offer in person, by phone, or by email. Contracts will follow.

CLOSED TRYOUTS

Once the kids are checked in, we ask that all parents leave the gym to minimize distractions. Once tryouts are complete, coaches will be available to answer questions.

NO GUARANTEES... EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TRYOUTS

Each season we get an excessive and sometimes overwhelming amount of talent in our gyms. The 2022-2023 season is a new beginning. A current "Black" team member is not guaranteed a spot on a "Black" team for the new season. Players may be offered early roster spots but all unfilled positions will be determined at tryouts.

Also, players at any time based on team needs and skill level may be moved from Black to Silver or vice versa.

Once all teams are complete, we will hold team meetings to answer questions and discuss expectations.

2022-2023 RMR Girls Tryout Calendar and Recruiting Details

(Revised 4/17/22: All times listed refer to Denver-local time)

 

Recruiting period begins on May 10th at 10:00 am, the Tuesday after the ZBT

• Before this time clubs are not to engage with players from other clubs.

• Prior to May 10th at 10am, clubs are allowed to send out direct mailings or advertise for upcoming events, but are not allowed to contact individual families or players unless the family has reached out to them first.

• After May 10th at 10am, any family/player may be contacted by any methods that meet SafeSport/MAPP requirements.

• Clubs may begin to give verbal offers during the recruiting period, but verbal offers are not binding until the contract has been signed on the designated signing dates (listed below).

• All players (regardless of their team going to a season end tournament for AAU’s or the GJNC) are free agents as of May 10th10am.

Dead Period: July 5th at 12:01am through July 11th 8:00am

• This is the period designed to offer all parties a “week of rest”.

• The RMR will not directly sanction clubs that do offer activities during the dead period, but we do encourage clubs to respect this valuable pause in our annual calendar to allow coaches, parents, and players a break.

• The RMR does not attempt to limit the scope or method of pre-season activities other than to ask that activities during the dead period be minimized, and that the Tryout period be respected.

Tryout Period begins July 11th at 8:00am and is “complete” when your club has filled its rosters)

• No official Tryouts may be held prior to July 11th, 8am.

• Clubs may advertise and offer camps, clinics, lessons, evaluations, and pre-tryouts activities prior to Tryouts as described in the “recruiting period” section, above.

• Clubs may charge a fee for tryouts, at their discretion.

Returning player contract signing may begin July 18th at 10:00am

• Any player that was affiliated with your club the previous year may be given a contract at this time.

• Contracts are not allowed to be sent, handed out or signed prior to this date and time for returning players.

• Any contracts signed prior to this date and time will be null and void.

• Deposits can be requested by Club.

• Clubs must have a time/date stamp mechanism for their contracts when they are signed by players and or player’s representative.

• It is up to the club to determine the amount of time they will give parents/guardians to sign these contracts.

• Once the contract is signed, it is binding, and the player/player representative will not be allowed to sign with another club for the 2022-2023 season.

New player contract signing may begin July 19th at 10:00 am

• Contracts with players not affiliated with your club through the previous season are not allowed to be sent, handed out or signed prior to this date and time.

• Any contracts signed prior to this date and time will be null and void.

• Deposits can be requested by Club.

• Clubs must have a time-stamped and date mechanism for their contracts when they are signed by players and or player’s representative.

• It is up to the club to determine the amount of time they will give parents/guardians to sign these contracts.

• Once the contract is signed, it is binding, and player/player representative will not be allowed to sign with another club for the 2022-2023 season.

Prospective coaches for the 2022-2023 Club season

• Clubs may contact coaches for possible employment for the upcoming season as soon as the coach’s current season has been completed.
